The Nurture Reset

A calm regulated space to listen to your body and emotions. 

 

This deeply 45 minute restorative experience is designed to help you slow down, reconnect and bring gentle awareness to the relationship between your emotions and your body.  It is designed for those who feel overwhelmed, exhausted, "burnt out", emotionally overloaded or in need of gentle emotional support without hands-on treatment.

 

You will be invited to lie fully clothed on a gently heated, slightly elevated massage table. The table is wide and comfortably supported with cushions and blankets, and a weighted blanket is also available if you would like to use one. Each session begins with a gentle check-in, exploring how you are feeling both physically and emotionally. This quiet moment of reflection helps bring awareness to where these sensations may be held in the body — such as tightness in the chest, tension in the shoulders, or pressure in the head. Rather than formal meditation, the focus is on helping you feel safe and grounded in the present moment.

We will begin with a gentle body–mind awareness session using breathwork, we’ll gently breathe in for 4, pause for 4, breathe out for 4, and rest for 4 — moving at a pace that feels steady and manageable. There’s no need to force the breath; simply allow it to flow comfortably.

 

A guided body scan is a simple, guided check in that helps you slow down and reconnect with your body. You’ll be invited to bring your attention gently through different body areas, noticing any sensations without judgement.  There’s no right or wrong way to feel — the intention isn’t to change anything, but to create space for your body to be acknowledged. How many of us get embarrassed if our tummy makes strange noises and hold onto our stomach hoping that it will just go away? It's a natural reaction, your body shifts from “fight or flight” (stress mode) into “rest and digest” mode. This is controlled by your parasympathetic nervous system, which supports relaxation and digestion. To me it's not embarrassing, I see it or hear it as a sign that your body feels safe enough to relax.

Finally, we will finish with a calming visualisation experience designed to help you settle both body and mind. You’ll be invited to picture a place that feels comforting and familiar, perhaps a favourite beach, quiet woodland, peaceful garden, or a holiday spot where you once felt at ease.

As you bring this place to mind, you may begin to notice it through your senses: what you can see around you, the sounds near and far, the feeling of the air on your skin, any natural scents, and even the taste of the air. This allows your nervous system to soften and your breathing to slow naturally.  There is nothing to force or imagine perfectly, simply an opportunity to rest your attention somewhere that feels steady and reassuring.  If you find this a struggle, I will guide through a peaceful scenario and pause at any moment you find yourself drifting e.g. what to cook for dinner, shopping lists, work, jobs etc! I will gradually help you refocus and feel supported within a compassionate and non-judgemental space.
