Cancer Support & Wellbeing Treatments

Through previous volunteer work supporting individuals affected by cancer at Integrated Cancer Therapies in Corby and the Macmillan Centre in Northampton General Hospital. I have developed an appreciation of the importance of comfort, compassion and personalised care. I understand that treatment experiences and individual needs can vary.  Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, comfort levels and current health circumstances. My aim is to provide a gentle, nurturing environment during and beyond your cancer journey. Where you can take time away from appointments, treatments and daily pressures, allowing space to simply relax and be cared for.

(Suitable for clients living with or beyond cancer, subject to consultation and any relevant medical guidance - https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/treatment/coping-with-treatment/complementary-therapies)

Stress Relief Head Massage

Take time to pause, rest and unwind with this gentle and nurturing head massage.

This treatment focuses on the scalp, head, face, ears and neck, where tension and stress can often accumulate. Using slow, rhythmic massage techniques and carefully placed pressure points, the treatment aims to promote deep relaxation, comfort and a sense of calm.

The treatment is performed fully clothed and can be adapted to your individual needs and comfort levels. Supportive cushions, blankets and seated options are available to help you relax and feel at ease throughout your visit.

Ideal for those seeking a peaceful moment of rest, relaxation and self-care during or after their cancer journey.

Cancer treatments - especially chemotherapy and targeted therapy - can damage your sensitive scalp, making it dry and itchy (desquamation), not to mention alopecia (loss of hair from the head and body).  Using Même scalp mist which contains

  • Organic Calendula Extract: softening and antioxidant, Calendula Extract soothes the driest and most irritated skins to say goodbye to uncomfortable itching.

  • Camelia Japonica Oil: combining moisturising and protection, this vegetable oil is perfect to recover the softness and suppleness of the skin.

  • Apricot Kernel Oil: rich in vitamin A, vitamin E, phytosterols and glycerides, Apricot Kernel Oil is really enriching. It nourishes the scalp and strengthens the skin’s protective barrier to keep it supple.

Designed with comfort and relaxation in mind, this treatment provides a peaceful opportunity to slow down, release tension and enjoy a moment of nurturing self-care in a safe and supportive environment.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that many people choose as part of their wellbeing support during or after cancer treatment. Focusing on specific reflex points on the feet, it aims to encourage deep relaxation and promote a sense of balance and wellbeing.

For those affected by cancer, reflexology may help to reduce feelings of stress, tension and anxiety, while providing valuable time to rest, relax and focus on self-care. As treatment is carried out on the feet, there is no need for full-body touch, undressing or frequent repositioning, making it a comfortable option for many people.

While reflexology is not a treatment for cancer, many people find it helps them feel more relaxed, supported and connected to their overall sense of wellbeing throughout their cancer journey.

For Aroma-Reflexology treatment, I use Songbird Naturals 'Zest' Reflexology Wax. Originally developed in partnership with the Iris Cancer Partnership, this uplifting blend combines mandarin and lime essential oils to create a fresh, vibrant aroma while providing the perfect medium for reflexology treatment. I can also use an unscented reflexology wax if scents are too overpowering during your treatment.

Sometimes the most valuable thing we can offer ourselves is permission to pause. This calming treatment provides a quiet space to rest, unwind and reconnect with a sense of comfort, calm and wellbeing during or beyond your cancer journey.

Therapeutic Touch - Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that aims to promote relaxation and support overall wellbeing. Originating in Japan, Reiki is typically received while resting comfortably on a treatment couch or seated in a supportive chair. I will gently place my  hands on or just above the body in a series of positions, and there is no need to remove any clothing.

Many people choose Reiki as an opportunity to pause, relax and take time for themselves during what can be a challenging period. Clients often describe feeling deeply relaxed, calm and supported following a session.

While Reiki is not a treatment for cancer, it may provide a valuable sense of comfort, relaxation and wellbeing for those living with or beyond cancer.

Sole Comfort Foot Massage

Take time to rest and unwind with this soothing foot massage designed to promote comfort, relaxation and wellbeing.

After removing your shoes and socks, you'll be invited to relax while your feet are gently cleansed with warm mitts and dried with soft towels.

Your treatment is then carried out using Même hands and feet serum which contains:

  • Mango oil: its high fatty acid content (omega 6/9), helps to reinforce the skin's protective hydrolipidic film and rebuild the skin barrier, thus cutting down on moisture loss. It repairs and softens up the skin, and gives the serum a velvety feel.

  • Aquaxyl™: a combo of three sugars to boost circulation and moisture retention in the epidermis. It recharges moisture reserves and reinforces cornea cohesion. It thus moisturises deep-down and makes the skin barrier sturdier.

  • Organic Aloe Vera gel: its high polysaccharide content helps to form a long-lasting moisturising film on the skin surface. It is anti-inflammatory and soothing, so it can attenuate blotches and irritations.

  • Sweet Almond oil: its high linoleic acid (Omega 6) content is crucial for an effective skin barrier. It repairs, acts as an emollient and prevents the skin from drying out.

Designed to promote comfort, relaxation and wellbeing, this soothing treatment provides a calming escape from the demands of everyday life, allowing you time to rest, recharge and simply be cared for in a peaceful and supportive environment.
